Going to Tulip Hill Health Care was the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. I came in struggling not just with addiction, but with the underlying mental health issues that fueled my drinking/using. The clinicians here are truly incredible, they are masters in their field and genuinely care about helping you heal, not just get sober.

What made the difference for me was how much they focused on the why behind my addiction. They helped me work through my anxiety and depression in a way no other program had before. The groups were supportive, the staff was compassionate, and I never once felt judged.

Today, I’m living a life I never thought possible, and I owe so much of that to Tulip Hill. If you’re scared or unsure about treatment, just know this place can change your life the way it changed mine.

As a professional in the behavioral health and recovery field, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with Tulip Hill Healthcare and see firsthand the quality of care they provide. What sets them apart is the balance they strike between clinical excellence and genuine compassion. Their team approaches each client as an individual, not a diagnosis, and consistently demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and empathy.

I’ve observed how their groups blend evidence-based practices with real-world application. Clients are not only educated about addiction and mental health but are also equipped with tools that can be used beyond treatment. Their staff works hard to create an environment where accountability and hope coexist—something that is essential for sustainable recovery.

Tulip Hill is also strong in continuity of care. They prioritize aftercare planning and ensure clients leave with structured support and resources, which is often the difference between short-term sobriety and long-term recovery.

In my experience, Tulip Hill Healthcare is a trusted partner in this work. I have no hesitation recommending them to clients and families seeking a program that is both clinically sound and deeply human in its approach.

Why Start With Professional Detox?

Detoxing from substances like alcohol, opioids, benzos, or meth can be dangerous and distressing without clinical help. At Live Again Detox, we provide:

  • 24/7 medical monitoring
  • Withdrawal symptom management
  • Comfort medications when needed
  • Mental health and emotional support
  • Nutritional, physical, and psychological stabilization

Safe detox is the foundation of lifelong sobriety. It’s not enough to simply stop using – you need to heal your body and mind with professional guidance. Only after your body is free of drugs and alcohol can your mind be clear enough to receive the messages of recovery.

Drug and Alcohol Detox Explained

Before lasting recovery can begin, the body must be cleared of harmful substances. This first step – known as detoxification, or detox – is the foundation of effective addiction treatment. At Live Again Detox in Nashville, we offer a range of detox services designed to meet your unique medical, emotional, and personal needs in a safe and supportive environment.

Detox allows your body to begin healing from substance use while reducing or eliminating the intense withdrawal symptoms that typically accompany early sobriety.

Attempting to detox at home is rarely safe or successful. Our professional detox services ensure that you’re not only comfortable but also medically-protected throughout the process.

Here are the three main types of detox we provide, each offering different levels of care and intensity:

Standard Detox

Standard detox is suitable for anyone with mild-to-moderate withdrawal symptoms and no significant health risks.

  • 24/7 supervision by trained clinical staff
  • Regular monitoring of vital signs and emotional well-being
  • Nutritional support and hydration
  • Access to licensed counselors and support staff

If you have mild physical dependency, standard detox may be used to taper you off substances under clinical guidance. It’s a structured, emotionally-supportive environment that ensures you are stable and ready to transition to further treatment without medical complications.

Medically-Monitored Detox

Medically-monitored detox is ideal for anyone dealing with more severe withdrawal symptoms, particularly for those detoxing from substances like:

  • Alcohol
  • Opioids (such as heroin, fentanyl, or prescription painkillers)
  • Benzodiazepines (like Xanax or Ativan)

In these cases, withdrawal can lead to serious symptoms like seizures, hallucinations, blood pressure spikes, or severe anxiety. Trying to quit alcohol or benzodiazepines “cold turkey” without medical supervision can even be fatal.

Our medical team provides:

  • 24/7 monitoring by licensed nurses and physicians
  • Use of FDA-approved medications to ease withdrawal symptoms
  • Immediate intervention for any health concerns
  • Psychiatric support if co-occurring disorders are present

This level of detox maximizes safety, minimizes discomfort, and lays the groundwork for a smooth transition into residential or outpatient treatment.

Rapid Detox

Used primarily for someone struggling with severe opioid addiction, rapid detox is a faster-paced option that accelerates the body’s elimination of drugs while minimizing withdrawal symptoms.

This form of detox involves the administration of medications that block opioid receptors or initiate immediate withdrawal under close medical supervision.

At Live Again Detox, our version of rapid detox is:

  • Conducted under continuous clinical supervision
  • Designed to shorten the acute detox timeline while ensuring safety
  • Paired with supportive medications to reduce discomfort
  • Followed by therapeutic engagement as soon as the client is stable

Rapid detox may be recommended for clients who have built a high tolerance or have been through previous detox attempts. It’s a strategic option for those needing a more efficient process without sacrificing medical oversight or personal care.

No matter which approach is best for you, our admissions team performs a full assessment to determine the safest and most effective detox plan for your needs.

With a full continuum of care on-site, Live Again Detox ensures that once your body is stabilized, your healing journey continues seamlessly, with no need to transfer to another facility.

The amount of one on one therapy he got, mixed with his process group was exactly the combination he needed to walk out a new man. Now he’s helping others and a productive member of society. Everything from our first call with Jake was top notch. God Bless Tulip Hill

    Frequently-Asked Questions

    1. How do I know if I or my loved one needs detox?

Detox is typically needed when someone experiences physical withdrawal symptoms after reducing or stopping drugs or alcohol. These symptoms may include sweating, shaking, nausea, anxiety, insomnia, or seizures.

If using a substance has become necessary just to feel “normal,” it’s a sign that medical detox could be crucial for safety and comfort. Our admissions team can help you assess the situation with a confidential phone consultation.

    2. What substances require medical detox?

Live Again Detox provides medical detox for a wide range of substances, including:

    • Alcohol
    • Opioids (heroin, oxycodone, fentanyl)
    • Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Ativan, Valium)
    • Methamphetamine
    • Cocaine
    • Prescription medications

Some substances, especially alcohol or benzos, can lead to dangerous or even life-threatening withdrawal symptoms, which is why professional supervision is critical.

NEVER try to self-detox or quit “cold turkey” on your own.

    3. Is detox painful? Will I be in discomfort?

At Live Again Detox, our goal is to make detox as comfortable and safe as possible. We use a medically managed approach that may include medications to ease symptoms like anxiety, insomnia, nausea, and cravings.

You’ll also receive 24/7 clinical support, emotional care, and a calming environment to support healing. While some discomfort is normal, most clients are surprised at how manageable it becomes with the right support.

    4. What should I bring with me to detox?

    You should bring:

    • Comfortable, modest clothing for 7–10 days
    • Toiletries (alcohol-free products)
    • Prescription medications (in original bottles)
    • ID and insurance card
    • A list of emergency contacts

We provide all bedding, meals, and essentials. Our admissions team will give you a full packing list to make preparation stress-free.

    5. Can I lose my job or get in trouble for going to detox?

No. In fact, you may be legally protected under laws like the FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These laws often allow you to take medical leave for substance use treatment without losing your job.

We can provide documentation and help you navigate work-related concerns confidentially. Your health comes first, and getting help is never something to be ashamed of.

I’ve waited a really long time to write this, but decided it’s finally time.
I’m currently 16 months sober, and I owe so much of that to the team at Live Again Detox. This wasn’t my first rodeo, or even my second, but more along the lines of “oh, we doing this again?” I’ve been to some really terrible places in my recovery journey over the last 17 years, but Live Again ranks among the best. From day one, I was treated with care and compassion and I could tell that the clinicians, nurses, and recovery team really cared. They handled me with care and dignity, helping me to feel seen and heard for the first time in a long time.
The catering was top-notch and there were groceries runs about 1x week.
The bedrooms provided were spacious and clean (and there’s even a tv provided!)
The communal areas were always kept well stocked with snacks and drinks. The living room area had video game consoles as well as a large selection of novels to choose from, should you feel so inclined.
There was ample opportunities to attend in-house recovery meetings, such as AA.
There are counselors on site to visit with as needed.
Live Again truly helped me to set a solid foundation for recovery, and I have recommended them several times since I left their care. If you are in need for specialized SUD care, I highly recommend these guys!

Thank you, care team for making me feel like a person again.

I'm feeling very blessed to have found Live Again Detox. After much panic about finances, I was counseled about how things work with this program. I completed a 14 day detox here and received the best care from counselors, nurses, chefs, and staff. The other members in recovery became like family, we told each other everything, and worked through many major life matters as a team. The beds were comfortable. Each day was structured with group activities, daily walks, consistent meal times, nurse practitioner meetings and weekly therapist visits. I highly recommend Live Again Detox for the sense of community and support around the clock. I took their offer to continue care with Lexington Addiction Center for intensive outpatient therapy and have been gaining great information regarding sobriety, relapse prevention, AA, and how to surrender to a power greater than myself. I have continued one on one therapy support as well as a nurse practitioner to support me through my journey. The group therapy is giving me a chance to hear stories that I resonate with, but can't always find the words for. I'm very grateful that I received a call from Jake this morning. He turned my potential relapse around. Easy does it.

Wow, what can I say...I would rate them a 10 if I could. This place is amazing. It was my 1st and hopefully last time in rehab and I couldn't have picked a better place. Its a small quaint facility so you really get to know the other rehabers and the staff. The staff is top notch, I fell in love with Chelsea, Chris, Travis, Chris and the other other Chris, LOL along with Patricia and Kelly the nurses. They make sure you are comfortable and well taken care of. This place is the Ritz Carlton of rehabs, no joke. If you or anyone you know is suffering with addiction, PLEASE call LIVE again Detox in Nashville, they will take the best care of you. LAD has the most caring, loving staff. From the moment you make the first call for help, you will feel that concern and care even over the phone. But, once you walk in the doors and meet the staff you really feel safe. The nurses are amazing during detox! All of the staff understands what you are going through and quickly helped me feel deserving of love again. After going to groups and 1 on 1 counseling (which taught me so many things about surrendering to my higher power 100%, self care, rigorous honesty, gratitude, affirmations, community and connections, service— I could go on and on), I am leaving here feeling alive again! I love the real me! I will no longer be wearing any masks. I know that I have recovery work ahead, but I’m looking forward to it, because I’ve seen the the joy, kindness, and love that the staff here brings to work everyday. They show up happy with smiles on their faces, hugs and positive energy to give away and I want that for my life again! Travis in case management helps filing claims, assistance with insurance, discharge planning, legal help if needed, and so much more. I left Texas and flew to Nashville for this place. I know now that God wanted me in this exact place to meet the wonderful group of people that I became friends with so quickly. Hopefully, some will remain lifelong friends, because I will really miss them!
Love and gratitude to Matt for greeting me the first night and for being so kind during check in and every night that I saw him after that (thanks for the Earl Grey tea Matt 😊), Chelsea and Leigh Anne for their group work- they both have an incredible way of sharing things they have learned that really help you heal from within and you start wanting just to soak up all of their knowledge 💜, Nurse Kelly (night shift) and Nurse Chris (days) give the best hugs and uplifting advice especially since I am a nurse and they particularly focused on not allowing me to focus on shame and guilt, but on my accomplishments and what I have to look forward to moving forward- they treated me with complete respect (love you both 🤗) All of the nurses were caring and just amazing- Stacy, Sheila, Marlene, Patricia, Kelly on day shift. Additional shout outs to my therapist Chris….. he helped me work through so many things and gave me great coping skills to use at LAD and to take with me (can’t thank you enough), Nick for morning meditations and great insight and also all of his spunk, Josue for some very interesting, informative, and inspiring conversations on Sundays, Chris (night tech) for is humor and late night conversations when some of us couldn’t sleep, and Luke for his peaceful nature.

If you need help, please call LAD! It’s a small group of people, 12 at max capacity, super caring and attentive staff, great food and soooo many snacks/drinks available 24/7, lovely facility.

I recommend this facility, HIGHLY, to anyone who may have a family member or even find themselves struggling or wanting more out of life- even if they may not know exactly what that would look like.

Candidly, I’ve completed several other programs at other facilities- this place does things differently, and in a good way. Every member of the staff genuinely cares about your well-being, and GENUINELY is willing to lend an ear when you need one: 24/7.

They also allow vaping (often demonized in other treatment facilities). Basically, to sum it up, everyone there prioritizes recovery- and encourages you and shows you what that can look like, even if that is something you can’t fathom for yourself…until you do.

Many thanks to everyone there on staff and fellow patients- would name names but uh, that whole anonymity thing.

Just know if you or a loved one were a “frequent-flier”, as I was, you can be one and done with this facility.

Once I began MAT with Suboxone, five years passed, and I never thought I would be free from that tether. Leaving there today, I’m done with them. It wasn’t horrific, nursing staff always made sure I was comfortable.

If you’ve gotten this far in the review you likely were going through all of the different websites and options, calling and wondering whether the facility ACTUALLY lived up to the website (as they often don’t)- save yourself some time and just call these peeps. Whether you’re local or far-away in Texas like I was, they’ll figure it out!

    Much love and respect ❤️

    All the best,

The facility is welcoming, well-run, and provides an environment where people can actually begin to envision a life beyond addiction. Live again detox literally saved my life. I was at the end of the rope and knew I could not detox and achieve sobriety by myself. I was met with nothing but kindness from the first phone call. The staff really care about you as a person. Coming to treatment, I was terrified to be judged for my addiction. I was looked at like a human and not my addiction. The whole staff knows you by name and take the time to really get to know you & your story. If you’re contemplating going to treatment, Live Again will absolutely change your life. I was a first timer going through this process and Travis and the team really knocked it out of the park. Leading with compassion, empathy and years of experience, they all make sure you're as cared for and as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment process. No judgment, just healing. If you come here open-minded and accountable, you'll leave with a new sense of self-respect and dignity (and Sobriety!). Thank you to all of the staff for helping me through my treatment. Best detox facility I’ve been to hands down. The counselors and staff are amazing. They treat you like an actual person, not just a client. Great food, comfy beds, and not ran like a prison. I didn't know what to expect as this was the first time entering a facility for my addiction. I was greeted with open arms, without bias, learning that the counselors and workers understood my situational perspective well as they had all went hrough addiction at some point in their lives, allowing me to truly appreciate their
battle and victory over substance abuse, creating an environment of true empathy for my disease. I highly recommend this loving facility if you are ready to gain your life back.

I’ve been through treatment facilities before and I must say that Live Again Detox has stolen my heart. Not only is the staff top tier, but the take aways from each interaction/conversation are life changing. The house itself is a warm, welcoming environment. Privacy was respected and cleanliness was never in question. My bed was more comfortable than mine at home, so don’t worry about getting a good nights rest. There’s also plenty to do in your downtime. Arts and crafts, access to streaming platforms, and plenty of reading options. Daily walks are also an activity I enjoyed; weather permitting. If you’re unsure of where to go to start your journey or detox, look no further than L.A.D. It’s completely reconstructed my outlook on recovery and given me assurance that this is a step worth taking.

I can’t say enough good things about this facility. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely cared for and supported. The staff are not only highly professional, but also incredibly compassionate and dedicated to each individuals recovery journey. The programs are well structured, the environment is peaceful and healing, and the therapy sessions. Both group and individual were truly life-changing. I loved feeling stronger, more self-aware, and with the tools I need to maintain lasting sobriety. If you are a loved, one is seeking help, this is the place to start your new beginning.

I just reached 60 days of continuous sobriety today and I couldn’t have done it without the amazing staff at Live Again Detox. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome and comfortable. Mr. Coggins has assembled a team of professionals that not only met but anticipated all of my needs. I want to reiterate how comfortable this experience was and having been in and out of recovery for 33 years, I speak from experience. The love and compassion for their work was abundantly clear and greatly appreciated . A heartfelt thank you to Mark, Hunter, the Nurses and Techs at Live Again Detox for giving me my life back!!
